Chapter five Society and Inequality in Eurasia/ North Africa

Society and Inequality

This chapter consists of a series of people known as seminal thinkers that made a difference for thousands of people and some of there beliefs and thoughts still play a large role now a days.

Gandhi tried to raise status of untouchables know as the Harijan. Some problems also located in Asia had to do with the land lord class, most of officials from wealthy farms avoided paying taxes of large estates. This increased the general tax for peasants making it extremely unfair and ridiculous.

Peasants was a large part of the population that happened to become beggars or even join gangs in order to make a difference for themselves. Lots of rebellions broke out some mostly from the yellow turban and they looked for peace.

Another class that played a role was the merchant class these were born into there caste. Merchants were known to be greedy and important because they were pure of blood and concentrated on nothing other than in the materialistic world.

Some of the caste played an important role such as the slaves, and ,Aspasia known as the high class in Sparta. The slaves made it possible for a lot of things to happen. This was cheap labor but at the same time it provided an easier restrain in the overall population of Asia. Later on these ideals were passed onto the Romans and they adapted to this perfectly fine because it was easy labor and it made it easier to deal with huge estates that need work.

Later on in China there was a new dynasty know as the Tang Dynasty and it was know for not only being the only place for being ruled by a woman especially during this time. Women in Athens were expected to stay at home and could not own land.
